Absolutely! Many of our students successfully transition to programming careers after completing our courses, even with no prior programming experience. If your goal is to switch careers, our bootcamps are tailored to help you start from scratch. To enrol with us, you don’t need to have a degree or prior technical background - all you need is discipline, persistence, and a willingness to work hard and learn to code.

Not at all. Our course delivery is designed to accommodate intermittent internet access. You can download the course material and work on your tasks offline. Once you’re back online, all your work automatically syncs with your mentor, who will provide timely feedback.

To be eligible for a certificate of completion and/or limited university co-certification, students must fulfil four specific criteria.

Criterion 1 - Meeting Initial Requirements

In the first two weeks, you must:

a) Attend a minimum of 7-8 hours per week of any combination of live lectures, workshops, or 1:1 mentor calls, totaling at least 15 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
b) Successfully complete the first four assigned tasks.

Criterion 2 - Demonstrating Mid-Course Progress

a) Successfully complete half of the assigned tasks and complete 60 GLH.

Criterion 3 - Demonstrating Post-Course Progress

a) Complete mandatory tasks before the end date of the core study period. This includes completing any resubmissions of tasks and having them graded as complete before the end date of the study period.
b) Within 4 weeks of course completion, document receiving an invitation to an interview.
c) Achieve at least 112 Guided Learning Hours by the end of the support date.

Criterion 4 - Demonstrating Employability

a) Record a Final Job Outcome within 12 weeks of graduating from the course, such as securing an offer of employment, an internship, or a related opportunity.

Should learners meet the requirements of Criterion 1, Criterion 2, Criterion 3, and Criterion 4 by the deadlines as set, they will receive a CoGrammar Certificate of Completion.

Our Skills Bootcamps consist of:

a) Asynchronous grading and tasks in which you will read, watch and interact with course content to submit tasks that are graded. You can do this at your own pace, subject to submission deadlines.

b) Synchronous lectures which are scheduled every 1-2 days during your bootcamp. While we strive to accommodate everyone's schedules, if you can't make it to a live session, don't worry—you'll have access to recordings for convenient viewing later.

c) Synchronous 1-on-1 mentor calls where you can schedule up to 3 calls per week throughout the 16-week study period. These sessions are your opportunity to discuss and overcome any challenging technical issues you encounter during your bootcamp journey.

d) Synchronous Career Support where you'll be invited to a series of webinars to help you find a new job in tech. These sessions may feature insights from our hiring partners, career fairs, and workshops focusing on crafting a technical CV and honing your skills for technical interviews. We also have one bookable session per week for 1-on-1 Career Coaching.

e) Asynchronous Student Success Support where our dedicated team is readily available via email to assist you with any challenges you encounter during your studies. Whether it's troubleshooting software setup or addressing personal obstacles that may hinder your progress, we're here to ensure you have the support needed to succeed.

While our bootcamps are designed to be taken asynchronously, we have the following requirements from the DfE for synchronous teaching to ensure you are orientated and on track:

a) In the first two weeks of your bootcamp, you will also be required to attend any combination of 15 hours worth of 1:1 mentor calls, live lectures, and onboarding webinars. If you are admitted, we will give you as much notice as possible of these sessions so you can schedule them accordingly.

b) After two weeks, you will have more flexibility on the attendance of these sessions but will be required to attend a total of 112 hours of a combination of mentor calls, live lectures, career support sessions, and onboarding webinars in the 16 weeks - a minimum of 7 hours per week.

Yes, many of our students are employed full-time in non-tech roles with a goal to transition into tech. However, please note the time requirements of the Skills Bootcamp and attendance requirements. While we do have 1:1 mentor call slots and lectures scheduled for after UK working hours, some of these fall during working hours UK time and if you are working full-time you may need to plan your attendance. We will share schedules for synchronous sessions as early as possible so you can plan ahead.

We started our first cohort of Skills Bootcamps in 2022. Since then, we have passed a Department for Education audit on all elements of learning and delivery, and as a result of the quality recorded, the DfE made a decision to increase the number of Skills Bootcamp places we are able to award.

We have also compiled hundreds of anonymous feedback forms from Skills Bootcamp students and, as of early 2023, over 80% of these respondents rate their overall experience as 'Good' or 'Excellent'.

CoGrammar has partnerships with UK Russell Group universities, The University of Nottingham Online, Imperial College London, and The University of Manchester. This means that if you are admitted and based on the date you record an invite to an interview for a new job in tech (or new work contracts if you are self-employed), you may be awarded a co-certified certificate of completion from one of these prestigious universities.

Please note that while we strive to offer co-certification opportunities to all eligible participants, it is not guaranteed for everyone. Some may receive a CoGrammar certificate of completion instead. Rest assured, as part of the course, you'll receive guidance in job applications and contracts, as well as access to our extensive employer network, ensuring you're well-supported throughout your journey.

As mentioned in the question above, you will receive either a CoGrammar certificate of completion or a co-certified and co-branded CoGrammar + university co-certificate.

To be eligible for a certificate, you will be required to complete all criteria as outlined and may be required to also record other data that we are required to report to the DfE.

Yes, if you fail to meet progression requirements or breach our Code of Conduct, disenrollment may occur, which we are obligated to report to the DfE.

To comply with DFE regulations, our teaching is limited to a maximum of 16 weeks for Skills Bootcamps. Consequently, these bootcamps cover less content and have shorter durations compared to our other bootcamps, which may better suit your needs.

Please note that content delivery and teaching beyond the scope of Skills Bootcamp funding are not included. However, you may have opportunities to access additional bootcamps, teaching, and university co-certification at discounted rates compared to our commercial prices. Rest assured, you will not incur any charges for any aspect of a Skills Bootcamp.
